Ten souls, four brothers and six sisters in the faith of Jesus, were baptized in Nepal in the beginning of December 2023, Pastor Roland de la Paz, Leader of the Asian Division at the IMS, announced on Facebook about the event today, on December 4, 2023. The baptisms were performed by Pastor Roland de la Paz and Pastor Roshan Prasai in the town of Banepa, located approximately 25 km east from Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu. “Initially, six souls were planned to be baptized, but by the working of the Holy Spirit four more souls made a covenant with God. During the baptism, the water was very cold, it was 10 degrees Celsius outside”, Pastor Roland de la Paz confirmed.

Banepa, known as Banepu, "Bhont", "Bhonta", "Bhon dey”, and the state with the oldest settlement of people as well, is a municipality and a historical town with a population of around 24,764 inhabitants in Central Nepal, situated at about 1,500 m above sea level. The name of Banepa means ‘Business place’ and comes from the two Newari words – ‘Bane’ (Business) and ‘Pa’ (Place).
