“In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.” Ecclesiastes 11:6.
“Who will go forth now with our publications? The Lord imparts a fitness for the work to every man and woman who will cooperate with divine power. All the requisite talent, courage, perseverance, faith, and tact will come as they put the armor on.” –Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 333.
Joel Barnedo, Leader
Under the leadership of Elder Joel Barnedo, who originally helped develop the canvassing program in the Philippines and is now working in the eastern United States, the General Conference Canvassing Department is challenged with training committed, talented Christians to carry the gospel in publications from door to door and from place to place.
This requires coordination with other General Conference departments, as well as communication with and training of responsible people in every country to secure and maintain stocks of the best possible publications. This is no easy task, for few believers have experience in managing the ordering, shipping, financing, storage, and rapid distribution that are required to have a dynamic work. However, it is the very countries that have little experience that are most in need of a strong canvassing work–a faithful front line in the battle against darkness.
