More than 900 people lost their lives and 3,360 others have been injured in two earthquakes, the second of them at a magnitude of 7.5, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the BBC (www.bbc.com) confirmed. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Pastor Habimelec Hernandez, Latin-American Division President at the IMS, wrote an official communique in which he expressed his solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the brethren at the IMS in that country, wishing the people God’s blessing so that His love and His peace might be a reality in each heart, even during the stroke of fate.
The deadly earthquakes in Venezuela remind us of the Lord’s Word in Luke 21:11, first part: “ And great earthquakes shall be in divers places”, which is a sign of the soon Christ’s second coming.
Venezuela, a federal presidential republic with 23 states on the northern coast of South America which had a total area of 912,050 square kilometers and a population estimated at 31.8 million in 2025, was colonized by Spain in 1522 and declared independence from the Spanish in 1811.
