The well known German magazine Spiegel mentioned in its online edition on September 16, 2019, the little community of faith of the Reform Movement of the Seventh Day Adventist as the only one that appealed to its members not to participate in the war, Helmut Welker reported, citing Spiegel. In addition, Spiegel presented four Adventist reformer martyrs who lost their lives for their faithfulness to Christ and His commandments: Guenter Pietz, Victor Pacha, Pastor Alfred Muench and Anton Brugger.

Guenter Pietz was 17 as he refused to do the military service in April 1943. He was put to death through the guillotine in September 1943. Born in Silesia, Victor Pacha abandoned the Catholic Church as he was 18 and was baptized as Seventh Day Adventist. He was put to death 1943 at the age of 25 in the prison of Brandenburg. Pastor Alfred Muench spent the whole time of the war in different prisons and concentration camps, including the island Alderney where he died just before the end of the war. At the beginning of the World War 2, the Austrian Anton Brugger fled to Italy where he was arrested in Milan. In February 1943, he was put to death in the prison Brandenburg-Goerden.
