Three souls were baptized recently in the Central African Republic by Pastor Justin Mpando after a successful Christian missionary trip and organizational help in the country, Brother Masumbuko Daniel, Central African Field Secretary at the IMS, confirmed today, October 1, 2025.
The Central African Republic (CAR), a landlocked country in Central Africa, has a land area of about 620,000 square kilometers (240,000 sq mi) and a population of of 5,357,744 inhabitants, as of 2024. The today borders of the Central African Republic, inhabited since at least 4000 before Christ, were established by France, which began annexing portions to the French Congo in the late 19th century and in 1903 established the separate colony of Ubangi Shari, part of French Equatorial Africa. After gaining independence from France in 1960, the Central African Republic remained among the ten poorest countries in the world, despite its significant mineral deposits and other resources, such as uranium reserves, crude oil, gold, diamonds, cobalt, lumber, and hydro-power, as well as significant quantities of arable land.
