The non-government organization Open Hearts prepared two times in the first half of October 2023 bags with vegetables for needed people in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovska Oblast, Ukraine, the Facebook site Open Hearts announced on October 31, 2023. Each bag contained 3 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of onions, 1 kg of carrots, 1 kg of beetroot and a head of cabbage.

In addition, Open Hearts visited Velyka Oleksandrivka, an urban-type settlement in Beryslav Raion,  Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine, and the village of Bilohirka in the same Raion, and provided side tables, commodes and mattresses for needed families donated by Brother Steven Opitz and Brother Wilfried Herbolsheimer.

In this way, the noble words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:35 were fulfilled: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in..”
