One soul, a sister in the faith of Jesus, was baptized  yesterday, on August 20, 2022, by Pastor Margarit Zhekov in the Struma River near the city of Kyustendil, Bulgaria, Brother Ivan Ivanov, elder and Bible worker at the local IMS-church in Kyustendil, confirmed. In this way, the number of the members in the local church reached nine.

In addition, a prayer was directed to God that He might bless in a special way the granddaughter of a family in the church.

Kyustendil is known as the city where the world-famous Bulgarian painter Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master (1882-1960), created some of his best paintings, as well as native town of Dimitar Peshev (1894-1973), Bulgarian Minister of Justice (1935) and Deputy Chairman of Bulgarian Parliament (1938, 1940) who gave the proposal (through a protest letter to Bulgarian Premier Prof. Bogdan Filov) to save 50 000 Bulgarian Hebrew citizens, viz. Countrymen of Christ, from their planned secret deportation to Germany where they would have been killed by the German authorities in concentration camps.
