A Christian university at the International Missionary Society (IMS) would be opened in the new year 2023 in Guatemala, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov, General Conference President at IMS, confirmed yesterday, on December 27, 2022, in his message on the occasion of the new year 2023: (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tzvetan+petkov ). The new Christian university will be registered and approved by the local Ministry of Education and it will offer education both online and in person, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov added. Economy and Bible Science would be the subjects of the education offered.

Guatemala, officially Republic of Guatemala, a country in Central America, bordered to the north and west by Mexico, to the northeast by Belize and the Caribbean, to the east by Honduras, to the southeast by El Salvador, and to the south by the Pacific Ocean, has an estimated population of 17, 6 million inhabitants. The territory of modern Guatemala hosted the core of the Maya civilization. In 1821, Guatemala attained independence from Spain and Mexico. Despite country’s richness in export goods, around a quarter of the population (4.6 million) has the experience of food insecurity, worsened by the ongoing food crisis resulting from the war provoked by Russia in Ukraine.
