A successful Christian cookery seminar was held last month in the Lesotho Field at the IMS, in the local church of Maputsoe, a town located in the northern district of Leribe in Lesotho, and organized by the the youths in the church, Brother Michael Tšukulu Rantai, Bible worker at the Lesotho Field of the IMS, announced today, November 3, 2025. In addition, sister Rantai, the wife of Brother Michael Tšukulu Rantai, was invited to the seminar and she taught practical demonstrations on making tofu, gluten (vegetarian meat), and soybean milk. The program which involved children, youth, and elderly members, included spending the night at the mission house as well.
Formally the Kingdom of Lesotho with Maseru as capital and largest city, Lesotho, a landlocked country in Southern Africa, known as the largest of only three sovereign enclaves in the world as well, beside San Marino and Vatican City, is situated in the Maloti Mountains and has an area of over 30,000 km2 (11,600 sq mi) and a population of about 2.3 million. Formed in 1824 by King Moshoeshoe, Lesotho becomes crown colony of the UK in 1884, achieves its independence in 1966 and is today the country with one of the highest rates of literacy in Africa ((81% as of 2021).
