Brother Timo Martin, one of the IMS pioneers of God’s work in Canada as well as in other countries around the world, fell asleep in Christ on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, his daughter Helen Marttinen announced on Facebook yesterday. Twenty one years ago, during the World Assembly of IMS in Ellecom, Netherlands, in 2002, I had the happiness to meet the humble and noble Brother Timo Martin and to talk with him. He was gentle and modest and everyone who met him could not forget his kindness. The following words of our Lord Jesus Christ are valid for Brother Timo Martin as well: “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.” Luke 12:8.
Brother Timo Martin was born on September 28, 1931. The funeral service will be held at Toronto IMS church, 3897 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON M9B 1L6, on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 3 pm EST, and will be transmitted via Facebook live stream of the International Missionary Society site, as well as via youtube on the 4Truth Canada site. In addition, an online memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 7 pm EST, via Zoom, ID 858 2294 3055.
