CIRCULAR LETTER
Dear brothers and sisters, members of the body of Christ,
Greetings with the Word of God in Psalm 133:1-3:
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
We hope this letter finds you well and of good courage in the Lord in this difficult time.
Some months have passed since the first official announcement was made regarding the next General Conference World Assembly. Due to the challenging situation with regard to international travel, the dates for the event were initially postponed. However, travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic are now being eased and, in some countries, they have been completely lifted. Therefore, we would like to inform you that, by God’s grace, the next General Conference World Assembly and Delegates’ Session will be held in Peru in July and August 2023. Peru has been blessed to have more than 6000 members in our church. The Sabbath School members are more than 15000 and we expect a high number of visitors from Peru, all Latin America, and the rest of the world for the World Assembly. Concerning the COVID-19 situation, Peru is rated as one of the safest places, ahead of the United States and some European countries. In addition, there are plenty of unique tourist sites that you may consider visiting before or after the conference.
The delegates will meet from July 11-30, 2023 tentatively in the newly built clinic Carlos Kozel in the city of Huaral, one and a half hours’ drive from the capital Lima. The clinic has a large therapy module, restaurant and cafeteria, and facilities to accommodate about 150 patients at any given time. This project is being done in partnership between the General Conference and the Peruvian Union and we believe it will contribute towards the further proclamation of the three angels’ messages, providing health services to many souls in need. We are in the process of construction and, according to the estimation of our engineers, the project will be completed by the end of the year 2022. For all delegates, we will send additional information and forms to be filled up. If you are a delegate, please register on our webpage sda1844.org and you will receive all necessary information for your travel and stay in Peru.
The public conference following the delegates’ session will be held in the city of Cajamarca, Peru. This is a mountain-rich, famous, and historically important tourist center with hot mineral springs and plenty of archaeological sites. Cajamarca is located in north central Peru and it is the old capital of the Inca civilization. The climate is cool and pleasant. In addition, there we will have a big modern stadium with sufficient capacity to hold all international and local visitors while observing social distancing and safety measures.
We wish to invite all brothers, sisters, and friends to make plans to travel and visit our public conference in Peru. Do not miss this great spiritual and cultural celebration! You will meet and have fellowship with the brothers and sisters from all around the world and will be filled with joy and enthusiasm. The public conference will be held from Wednesday, August 2 through Sabbath, August 5, 2023. Please be sure to arrive before August 2 so that you may enjoy all the lectures, experiences, music, and songs that will be part of the international program. We are planning to have parallel programs for the youth and children. After the conference, organized field trips will be available for those who wish to visit different tourist sites.
Tentatively, a registration form for visitors will be published on our website sda1844.org after August 1, 2022. If you are planning to attend the World Assembly and would like to receive updates about the event, please register as a visitor. In this way, information about lodging and prices, as well as other relevant details, will be sent to you as they become available.
Let us pray that the angels may hold the winds and that, by the grace of the Lord, His people may be granted the privilege and blessing of meeting for another World Assembly, trusting in the promise found in Matthew 28:20: “… And, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
