A clean drinking water filter system was built by an engineer at the IMS, Brother Mario Di Franca, for the Ramah Primary School in Rushango, Uganda, East Africa, which was inaugurated last year, between October 23 and November 8, 2024, during the visit of eight brethren at the IMS from Germany and Austria, in order to help the schools supported via the registered association “Brücke zum Leben” (Bridge to Life), Brother Wilfried Herbolsheimer revealed in a wonderful travelogue published in the Sabbatwächter (Guardian of Sabbath) magazine, issue 2, volume 100, recently this year.
Engineer Mario Di Franca built firstly a large pond approximately 600 meters under the school and then on a school plot a small tower with a pump, a water tank and a filter system were constructed, Brother Wilfried Herbolsheimer specified. In addition, the filter system “Paul” which was used for the project, was really something special with the capacity to filter out until 99,9 percent of all bacteria, viruses and microbes, because similar systems were used in space stations in the universe as well, the travelogue in the Sabbatwächter (Guardian of Sabbath) magazine confirmed.
Rushango, a town with a population of 7,536 inhabitants, as of last year, and an area of 30.23 km², is located in the Western Region of Uganda, a republic with a population of 49.3 million, as of 2024, of whom 8.5 million live in the capital and largest city, Kampala. The British established the Protectorate of Uganda in 1894, while the country gained independence in 1962, with Milton Obote as the first premier.
