our beliefs

We believe that government is ordained of God and that, as God’s minister, it is responsible for protecting good and punishing evil.
Romans 13:3, 4 – For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

For this reason, we feel obliged to fulfill our duty to it, as long as we are not forced to transgress God’s commandments.
Acts 4:19 –
But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
Acts 5:29 –
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Jesus said, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s” Matthew 22:21. Accordingly, we pay our taxes and dues.

We believe it is necessary to pray for the government, so that peace and order may prevail among the people, each one may live his faith, and the proclamation of the gospel of Christ may not be hindered.
1 Timothy 2:1, 2 –
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

According to the sixth commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13), and the teachings of Jesus, we, as His followers, cannot participate in politics, revolt, bloodshed, or war.
