A brilliant analysis on the gift of the languages was presented in Spanish during the traditional Q&A session at the IMS on January 13, 2026, by Sister Raquel Orce, Director of the Publishing Department at the General Conference of the IMS, under the title “The Truth about the Gift of the Languages”, the Secretarial Department at the General Conference of the IMS confirmed. In her presentation, Sister Raquel Orce underlined that the gift of the languages was revealed in Acts 2:4-6, because God performed a wonder, in order to let every one hear the sermon of Peter the apostle in his own language at the same time, and this talent, given both to Jewish and gentiles (Acts 10:46 and 19:6), and which was a sign of the believers, according to Mark 16:17, would cease, as 1 Corinthians 13:8 confirmed. In addition, Sister Raquel Orce emphasized that the use of the gift of the languages should serve for the edification of the church via God’s order and be understood via gift of interpretation, being a sign for the non-believers, while the gift of the prophecy was a sign for the believers, according to 1 Corinthians 14:20-25.
