Two souls, Sister Melanie and Brother Hakan, were baptized on Sabbath, July 5, 2025, in Naumburg (Saale), Germany, in the river Saale by Pastor Jens Mueller, the Christian German magazine ‘Sabbatwaechter’ (Sabbath Watchman) announced in its third issue this year. The two baptized souls were accepted in the local church at the IMS on the bank of the Saale river in the presence of the church members.
Naumburg, a town in (and the administrative capital of) the district Burgenlandkreis, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Central Germany, has a population of approximately 33,000, as of the last year census, and a total area of 129.9 km2 (50.2 sq mi) and is located approximately 60 km (37 mi) southwest of Leipzig, 50 km (31mi) south-southwest of Halle and 40 km (25 mi) north-northeast of Jena. The first written record of Naumburg, whose cathedral became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018, dates from 1012, when it was mentioned as the new castle of the Ekkehardinger, the Margrave of Meissen.
