Two souls, Brother Daniel Baraha from Congo and Brother Prosper from Rwanda, both refugees living in Kakuma, a town in northwestern Turkana County, Kenya, were baptized by Pastor James Mbaka in Nairobi Rongai IMS church on July 1, 2022, Brother Peter Omwoyo from Kenyan Union reported via e-mail today, August 1, 2022. The baptism was not possible at the Kakuma refugee camp because of the lack of water there. The two brethren had to travel approximately 700 km to Nairobi, after receiving the permission of the refugee camp manager to be out of the camp for only two weeks because of the baptism, in order to be baptized. After the baptism, Brother Daniel Baraha and Brother Prosper had to come back to the refugee camp.
The brethren from the Kenyan IMS church are always in touch with the baptized souls by phone. Brother Daniel Baraha and Brother Prosper are still under the care of Pastor James, despite the long distance between Kakuma and Nairobi. In addition, the baptized brethren are currently staying under UN cover in the refugee camp, however, they are going through difficult times and they need our prayers. This is also God’s instruction for difficult times: “Pray ye each for other, that ye be saved” (James 5:16).
