A profound Christian analysis on the brilliant E. G. White’s book The Great Controversy was presented in Spanish by Sister Raquel Orce, Director of the Publishing Department at the General Conference of the IMS, during three traditional Q&A sessions at the International Missionary Society (IMS) held on November 11, 18 and 25, 2025 and published via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNips2pPWm0; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiICAZ98HRA; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sosKpqzZWFU, the Secretarial Department at the General Conference of the IMS confirmed. Pastor Humberto Avellaneda, General Conference Vice President at the IMS, was the moderator of the Q&A sessions.
In the first Q&A session, Sister Raquel Orce mentioned the most important characteristics of the sequenced order of the events in the Bible and in the testimonies of the Spirit of Prophesy written by E. G. White: events in the past described after their fulfillment, such as the first five books of Moses, events of the present age, such as those described in Ezra, for instance, and events in the future, such as those in the book of Revelation, including a more extended second version of a prophecy like that of Jeremiah which was burnt by the king. In addition, Sister Raquel Orce called the book The Great Controversy a process in progress and mentioned the development of all variants of the book until its final version in 1911. Furthermore, Sister Raquel Orce mentioned the differences between the English and the Spanish text of The Great Controversy, including the fact that the Spanish version comprised 43 chapters – one more dedicated to the reformation in Spain, compared to the original English text.
In the second Q&A session, Sister Raquel Orce explained the internal structure of the E. G. White’s book The Great Controversy which was inspired by the Spirit of Prophecy, and rebutted the false accusations against the book made by pastors who were followers of the charismatic Pentecost style of Christian conduct, as well as by medical doctors who were supporters of the false doctrine of the pantheism. Sister Raquel Orce underlined that the existence of historical references in The Great Controversy was not a proof in favor of the false accusation that the book were not inspired by God, because in the Bible there was the same style of God’s Spirit mentioning historical references as well, such as those in Luke 2:1-2 and in Ezra 1:2-4. As of the false accusation of plagiarism, Sister Raquel Orce emphasized that in the Bible the Spirit of God did not keep always the human academic rule of quoting as well, because the Lord was the initial source of all good events and deeds (John 1:3) on the one hand, and, on the other hand, a group of advocates in the USA who were experts in the copy right subject investigated the books of E. G. White and found that she was not a plagiarist.
In the third Q&A session, Sister Raquel Orce revealed the connection between and the combination of the visions given to E. G. White by God and the historical references in The Great Controversy which confirmed the visions given by God. Sister Raquel Orce mentioned the sequence of the extended versions of the book and the panoramic visions given by God to E. G. White as His messenger, as well as the triple functionality of God’s prophecy for us, according to 1 Cor. 14:3 - “edification, and exhortation, and comfort”. The visions comprised the historical development of the conflict between Satan and Christ within seven thousand years, from the fall of Satan in heaven till the final victory of Christ and the redeemed God’s people in God’s city of the New Jerusalem.
