An important and very profound analysis on the Christian gift of prophecy, presented by Pastor Tzvetan Petkov, General Conference President at the IMS, was published via YouTube on June 9, 2025, when a Q & A session at the IMS was held: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-cVdNEZ7m8. Pastor Douglas Frances, Counselor of the General Conference President at the IMS, was the moderator of the event. During the session, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov answered questions of the brethren at the IMS regarding the subject. Pastor Tzvetan Petkov specified as well that even the prophet did not understand sometimes the message which was given to him by God.
In his presentation, including a power point lecture, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov underlined that the office of a God’s prophet was always determined particularly by the Lord and, in this regard, Sister Ellen G. White was a God’s messenger, not a prophet, and David was a king, but not a prophet, despite of the many prophecies revealed by the both servants in both the testimonies and the Psalms. In addition, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov explained the biblical truth that a prophet was chosen by God, according to Jeremiah 1:5. Furthermore, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov emphasized that the true prophet does not reveal his own opinion, but the Word of God, and the true prophet can be tested by the Word of God in Isaiah 8:20.
