An important and excellent Christian analysis regarding the truth and the historical perspective of Christmas was presented in English by Sister Raquel Orce, Director of the Publishing Department at the General Conference of the IMS, during the traditional Q&A session of the IMS on December 8, 2025, and published via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ro47pOxbA0, the Secretarial Department of the IMS confirmed. Pastor Douglas Francis, Counselor of the General Conference President at the IMS, was the moderator of the event.
In her presentation, Sister Raquel Orce mentioned firstly the meaning of the term Christmas which was “Birth of Christ” in Latin. In addition, Sister Raquel Orce answered the question as well, which of God’s Ten Commandments would be violated if we celebrated Christmas: first of all, Christ was not born on December 25, 2025, because in this season the shepherds in this region could stay with their flocks in the open not later than October 15, and, on the other hand, one of the virtues of the remnant of the saved Christians God mentioned in the Holy Scripture was the fact that “in their mouth was found no lie” (Revelation 14:5, first part). Furthermore, Sister Raquel Orce underlined the biblical fact that God’s judgment was to destroy the Scandinavian pagan service “under every green tree”, according to Deuteronomy 12:2, because He regarded this service as an idolatry, as the Lord’s Word spoke in Jeremiah 3:13 and Ezekiel 6:13.
At the end of her presentation, Sister Raquel Orce emphasized the biblical truth as well that the wise men came to the newborn Jesus, in order to acknowledge and to worship Him as King, but not to celebrate His birthday, because Christ never ordained such a rite and day on which the wise men’s worship happened was irrelevant.
