The first part of the virtual Q&A session in Spanish on the subject ‘The name of Our Church’ will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 8 pm, the Secretarial Department at IMS announced on July 30, 2021, via e-mail, Facebook and WhatsApp. Pastor Humberto Avellaneda, General Conference Vice-President at IMS, and Sister Raquel Orce Sotomayor, Director of the Publishing Department at IMS, will take part in the event. The Christian virtual Q&A session will be transmitted on Facebook (/ smiasdimorcg and / smilatinoamerica), as well via You Tube (International Missionary Society) and Zoom (865 1050 5136). The subject on the name of the church is very important, because, known by the true Christian ethics and honesty of the church representatives, the good name of the church is a powerful testimony about Christ’s deeds in the life of His followers by His grace. I remember the case in which Pastor Siegmund Gutknecht, General Conference President at the International Missionary Society, sent an invitation to my mother to visit Germany in 1991, during my study period as student at the International Missionary Society in Neckarsteinach-Darsberg, Germany. At the last moment, waiting to receive her visa in the embassy of Germany in Sofia, my mother saw that the written invitation of IMS had no seal, but only the signature of Pastor Siegmund Gutknecht. And she started to explain the case and to beg German ambassador’s pardon for this failure. However, the German ambassador answered: “No problem at all. Some signatures are valid even without seal.”
