One more soul – our sister in the faith of Jesus Francisca Martínez, was baptized recently in Mexico at the International Missionary Society (IMS), the Facebook site SMI Mexico Central announced today, on April 28, 2026, by publishing a text of blessing and joy: “We give thanks to God that another soul has been baptized. May God bless our sister Francisca Martínez, giving her strength and encouragement each day to continue on this beautiful path. There is joy in heaven.”
The last sentence in the text indicates about the heavenly triumph mentioned by the Lord’s Word in Luke 15:7 - “ I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”
Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, a federal republic with a presidential system of government, has a total area of 1,972,550 square kilometers and a population of 131,946,900, according to the last year estimate, which made it the tenth most populous country in the world. Spanish colonization started in Mexico in 1521, when the Aztec Empire was defeated by an alliance. After the Mexican War of Independence in 1821, Mexico lost approximately 50 percent of its territory due to the American invasion in 1848. Today, Mexico has the world's the 15th largest economy by nominal GDP and the 13th largest by purchasing power parity.
