An important Christian lesson on the ecumenism was given in Spanish by Sister Raquel Orce, Director of the Publishing Department at the General Conference of the IMS, and published via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbY8mHAdIsQ, on July 29, 2025, as the first part of the subject during the traditional Q&A session at the IMS, and in English on August 4, 2025, as the second part of the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nROX4PbIKvM. Pastor Humberto Avellaneda, General Conference Vice President at the IMS, was the moderator of the first part of the event, while Pastor Douglas Francis, Counselor of the General Conference President at the IMS, was the moderator of the second part.
In the first part of the lesson, Sister Raquel Orce underlined that the Greek term “ecumene” (οἰκουμένη – oikoumene) does not have any religious meaning, but it comprises only the definition of "the inhabited world". In addition, Sister Raquel Orce gave examples of incorporation of believers in the history of God’s people in the Old Testament, such as in Joshua 9:25-27, and explained the difference between incorporation and ecumenism which was a mixture of true followers of the Lord with people with pagan religious practice, as in Genesis 6:2.
In the second part of the lesson, Sister Raquel Orce explained some examples of Christian incorporation applied by Christ as a missionary strategy, such as in Matthew 15:26-28; Mark 5:18-20; Luke 17:12-19 and John 12:20-23.
