Pastor Tzvetan Petkov, General Conference President at the IMS, gave today, on June 23, 2025, an important lesson on the three Christian baptisms – the baptism with water, with the Spirit, and with fire – during the traditional Q&A session which was transmitted via YouTube as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsTo3DSF7e0. Pastor Douglas Francis, Counselor of the General Conference President at the IMS, was the moderator of the event.
Pastor Tzvetan Petkov explained the life-saving experiences of the three baptisms, according to Matthew 3:11 and Luke 3:16, underlining the mysterious of the baptism with the Holy Spirit Who was compared with the wind in the Holy Scriptures (Acts 2:2). In addition, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov emphasized the elements of the biblical Christian baptism with water – it was performed in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in a river or in a swimming bath after repentance, biblical training, and reaching the age of majority.
Furthermore, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov specified that the water baptism was not only a contract, a covenant, but an oath of allegiance and a sign of entering the kingdom of God (John 3:5), as well as a true conversion, a burial with Christ and resurrection and entrance upon a new life.
