An important Christian analysis on the biblical battle near Armageddon (Revelation 16:16) was presented in Spanish by Pastor Tzvetan Petkov, General Conference President at the IMS, recorded on February 4, 2025, and transmitted on February 5, 2025, during a Q&A session at the IMS via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbNmxMYjgV0, the International Missionary Society (IMS) confirmed. Pastor Humberto Avellaneda, General Conference Vice President at the IMS, was the moderator of the event.
Pastor Tzvetan Petkov underlined that the biblical battle near Armageddon will be both a concrete, as of the time, literal (according to the testimony in the book Christ Triumphant, page 318 in Spanish, and in Review and Herald of November 1, 1887) and spiritual battle and the most modern weapons of deception and war, according to the testimony of the Spirit of Prophecy in the message in Letter 112 from 1890, in the book Maranatha, page 265 in Spanish, shall be used.
The battle near Armageddon will include a desolation of Jerusalem, according to Christ’s prophecy, and a war against the wrath of God, i.e. a war of the evil agencies and impious human beings against the faithful followers of Christ, the people and the church of God on this earth, Pastor Tzvetan Petkov added. Furthermore, the faithful followers of Christ shall be accused that they do not keep the Sunday, the first day of the week, as the day of rest according to the tradition, but they keep the Sabbath according to Christ’s Word in Matthew 12:8 and Luke 6:5, and that’s why the plagues of God afflict the earth, but God will protect His people who shall be awake and prepared (today is the time of the preparation) and who shall have passed in Christian unity the individual test by Christ’s grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
