Two young church members from IMS, two brothers in the faith of Jesus from South Korea, would be in danger to be sent to prison because of their pacifism and refusal to take arms in harmony with Christ’s commands in John 18:11 – “Put the sword into its sheath” and “You shall not murder” (Romans 13:9), regarding the obligatory military service in that country, Pastor Woonsan Kang from South Korea announced during the World Assembly in Huaral, Peru, on Sabbath, July 22, 2023, mentioning that one of the two young brothers was his son. The other young brother in danger was the leader of Youth Department in South Korea, Pastor Woonsan Kang added.

The two young men and brothers in the faith need our prayers, because they have not a choice, as the alternative peaceful option of military service does not exist in South Korea. If the two Christians would like to remain faithful to God, they could be sent to prison only. If our two brethren in the faith of Jesus would make a compromise, they should abandon the church. However, we have the promise of our Savior: “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:20)
