A wonderful Christian online seminar on the colportage under the motto “Revival of the Colportage” was held on March, 11 and 12, 2024, at 5:00 pm local time in Spanish via Ecuadorian Field by Pastor Gustavo Castellanos, Leader of the Colportage Department at the General Conference of IMS, SMI Ecuador confirmed on Facebook. The seminar, whose moderator was Pastor Anthony Torres, included two lectures given by Pastor Gustavo Castellanos: the first one under the title “The Importance of the Colportage” (https://fb.watch/qO9GfKeh-q/), presented on March 11, 2024, and the second one – under the title “God’s Plan for the Work of Colportage” (https://fb.watch/qOaiUGB4m3/), from March 12, 2024.

The fist lecture emphasized God’s method to coordinate the spoken and the written Word like at the time of the prophet Jeremiah and even earlier, during the presentation of the written Ten Commandments, as well as our need of re-conversion (regaining the apostle church’s piety) and application of the colportage as a missionary work of highest level under God’s blessing and protection of God’s angels in connection of God’s appeal in Isaiah 6:8 “Who will go for us?”

The second lecture mentioned the example of the Waldenses who applied the colportage as an organized work which was always the beginning of a church establishment. In addition, Pastor Gustavo Castellanos remembered God’s instruction for the prophet Habakkuk to write the vision (Habakkuk 2:2) as an initiation of the published literature. On the other hand, the work of the colportage was presented as an instrument, guided by the Holy Spirit, of molding the Christian character and as a fruitful branch of God’s work for saving noble and precious souls for God’s eternal kingdom, with the human aspect of addition and God’s aspect of multiplication within a missionary Christian strategy, including accepting the Lord’s appeal, the education and activity together with Christ.
