Canvassing congress was held in the town of Huaral, Peru, from February 10, 2020, to February 22, 2020, Pastor Joel Barnedo, the leader of the Canvassing Department at the General Conference of IMS, reported. The congress started with a lesson about biographical notes regarding Ellen G. White presented by Pastor Joel Barnedo. In addition, the missionary elder Smith Hernandez gave lessons about the temperament. Furthermore, Brother Adalberto Esparza spoke about the development of an effective leadership. Pastor Oscar Raymond Rosales Correa presented the subject about the history of the canvassing work, while Pastor Barnedo explained the reason for doing canvassing work.

The congress instructed the more than 100 participants how to overcome the losing streak, a subject presented by Eli Rodrigez, as well as on perseverance as a synonym of success, a lesson given by Leandro Polo. Other main points in the program were concentrated on the gift of the leadership, with titles like “Are we all leaders?” by Luciano Saldaña and “The action of a leader” by Pastor Jeremias Padilla. Pastor Joel Barnedo explained the secret of the canvassing work’s success, as well as how the Christian canvassing worker could be an entertainer and to contribute to a revival of God’s work in the church. Froilan Cubas made demonstration of canvassing work and mentioned the points of the book sale. In addition, Pastor Barnedo spoke about opportunities, risks, as well as about strong and weak points of the canvassing work.
